The Godavari River and Rajahmundry

Rajahmundry was the town in which my father was born. The town is on the banks of river Godavari and is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  My grandfather was a civil engineer and an expert in bridge construction. He helped build the second bridge over the Godavari river in Rajahmundry. When the bridge was completed in 1977, it was Asia's longest road-cum-rail bridge, spanning nearly 2 miles.

Indian Railways: This is a typical view of a railway train station platform. Around 25 million passengers are transported every day by the Indian Railways,

This is the third bridge that was constructed over the river Godavari in Rajahmundry. My grandfather was the Chief Enginner during the construction of this bridge. It was completed in 1997.
